Go to https://account.live.com/resetpassword.aspx in your browser. This website allows you to reset your password for an account provided you still have access to the backup that you used to set up a Hotmail or Outlook account.
Enter the email address you want to recover and click Next.
Click on the radio option ahead of your favorite recovery method. You should see partial alternative email address or phone number that you provided when you set an account. Click on whatever method you want to use to recover your account.
· If you don’t have a recovery option or you can’t access any recovery method listed, you must fill out a form on Microsoft’s website to recover your account.
Enter an email address or phone number and click Get Code. Once you select the recovery method, it asks you to provide the full recovery email address or the last 4 points of your phone number in the given location. Then click get the code. An email or text message will be sent to you with the verification code.
Recovery Code. Use one of the following steps to recover the recovery code:
·Email: Open the recovery email address, select email from the Microsoft Account Team, and note code ahead of the title.
Enter the recovery code and click Next. Type the code in the text field in the middle of the page, then click Next. As long as the code you entered matches the code you received, you will be taken to the Hotmail password reset page.
New pass word filled. Type in your new password. and re-enter password.
Click Next when you get the signal. It will take you back to the sign-in page where you can sign in to your account using your new password.
